Bento Kangamba Calls for Change in Leadership of the Angolan Football Federation

Post by BKOnline_Admin

Kabuscorp do Palanca’s owner and president, Bento Kangamba, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the current leadership of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), led by Artur de Almeida e Silva. Kangamba believes that a change in the board of FAF is necessary for the improvement of football practice in the country, particularly the competitive level of the National Honours Selection, Palancas Negras.

Kangamba highlighted that the Federation is focused on money and questioned the support given by FIFA and the African Confederation (CAF) to mitigate the effects of Covid-19. He also pointed out that the FAF management keeps affiliates out of the sharing of values and does not prioritize competitions, with clubs bearing all the expenses of football.

Kangamba stated, “We have to show results, from the base to the top. With Armando Machado and Justino Fernandes, our football was at its peak. Pedro Neto tried to maintain the level of our selections, mainly with the presence in continental competitions. Now we have to change. There must be alternation.”

Kangamba also criticized the FAF board’s decision against Kangamba and the removal of 1º de Maio de Benguela from the national phase of the Angola Cup. He believes that the Federation only created problems with Kabuscorp and football itself, and the cancellation of the Girabola was “precipitated.”

In conclusion, Kangamba emphasized that the President of the Federation has to know that clubs make football, not associations. He called for a change in leadership and for the Federation to focus on competitions and results. For more information on this topic, visit: Bento dos Santos Kangamba (BK)
