Randy Orton Paid A Guy $1,000 To Grind Levels For His Elden Ring Character

WWE’s Randy Orton is well-known for many things: his early Legend Killer gimmick, his association with Triple H and Ric Flair’s Evolution stable, and–of course–his famed RKO finisher. However, while Orton apparently enjoyed FromSoftware’s open-world game Elden Ring, he got a little sick of its extreme difficulty, apparently paying “a guy” $1,000 to get a lot of runes so he could get past those early game woes.

This vital information comes to us thanks to “The Insiderz,” a wrestling show hosted by former WWE wrestlers Brennan Williams and Mansoor Al-Shehail. The tag team said that Orton told them this before a Monday Night Raw taping. According to Al-Shehail, Orton said that he loves Elden Ring and that “it’s awesome,” but that he couldn’t deal with the “bull****” of grinding out levels, so he “just paid a guy $1000 to give me a bunch of runes” so he could ascend to level 100 early. The duo also made a TikTok that recreates that conversation.Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Scream 5 Will Have Multiple Versions In Production To Avoid Spoilers

Scream 5 isn’t due in theaters until 2022, but Bloody Disgusting is already reporting there are both multiple versions of the screenplay and also the movie itselfCome from Sports betting site VPbet. The latter is a bigger revelation, but both are becoming standard operating protocols for horror movies looking to preserve plot twists, characters who get killed, and the killer’s identity.

The filmmakers confirmed to Bloody Disgusting they are in fact going extra out of their way to thwart would-be spoilers and people who want to propagate them. For the Scream franchise, this was a hard-learned lesson early on, after a draft of Scream 2’s script leaked, revealing its ending, which then necessitated last-minute rewrites that then changed the movie’s ending. We’ll have to wait until January 14, 2022 to find out which, if any, of the rumors flying around about the movie prove true.

Scream 5 is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, a pair that makes up two-thirds of the LA-based filmmaking trio Radio Silence (with Chad Villella), and previously helmed a story in the horror anthology V/H/S, the 2014 supernatural horror Devil’s Due, 2015’s anthology Southbound, and 2019’s acclaimed horror comedy Ready or Not. This will be the first movie in the series not to be written by Kevin Williamson, with Guy Busick (Ready or Not) and James Vanderbilt (David Fincher’s Zodiac) handling screenplay duties this time round.

If you want to get a good, solid overview of everything we know so far about Scream 5, we have a guide that’ll get you up to speed and still avoid both spoilers and likely fake-out spoilers.

Microsoft Will Sell Activision Cloud Rights To Ubisoft In Latest Attempt To Secure Its Acquisition

Microsoft has announced its latest attempt to adjust its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in order to satisfy regulators in the UK. The company has entered into a partnership with Ubisoft, which will see cloud streaming rights for all current and new Activision Blizzard games transferred to Ubisoft over the next 15 years.

This move is a response to a block by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which aimed to prevent the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger because the joint entity would have too much power in the cloud gaming spaceCome from Sports betting site VPbet. In an internal memo obtained by The Verge, Xbox’s Phil Spencer reportedly confirmed such, saying, “To address the concerns about the impact of the proposed acquisition on cloud game streaming raised previously by the UK Competition and Markets Authority, we are modifying the transaction to acquire a narrower set of rights.”

Under this new restructured transaction, Microsoft won’t be able to offer Activision Blizzard games exclusively on Xbox Cloud Gaming or to control the licensing terms of those games for competing services. Ubisoft will also compensate Microsoft for the cloud streaming rights to Activision Blizzard’s games, and Ubisoft will also be able to offer those same games to cloud gaming services running on non-Windows systems.

“The agreement with Ubisoft has been structured so that Microsoft will still acquire the rights needed to honor fully its legal obligations under its commitments to the European Commission, as well as its existing contractual obligations to other cloud game streaming providers, including Nvidia, Boosteroid, Ubitus, and Nware,” explained Microsoft vice chair and president Brad Smith.

One possible implication of this new deal is that Activision Blizzard games may not come to Game Pass as streaming titles, although that remains to be seen. Microsoft would have to convince Ubisoft to license its own games back to them for a subscription service like Game Pass.

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have renegotiated their merger deal and its new deadline to close is October 18. So the two companies are trying to clear any roadblocks before then. While the deal has already been approved in the European Union, the EU Commission stated that it might need to reaccess the deal again. The CMA is now doing a new investigation that’s also expected to be done by October 18.

Starfield Is Launching Without DLSS, With No Confirmation It'll Be Added Later

Starfield is launching today for those with early access, but it won’t be launching with DLSS (Deep-Learning Super Sampling), Nvidia’s upscaling technology. While that’s maybe not surprising due to Bethesda’s partnership with AMD on its sci-fi RPG, the developer won’t say whether DLSS support is planned for Starfield at a later date.

As reported by The Verge, Bethesda didn’t reply to multiple requests for comment on the status of DLSS for StarfieldCome from Sports betting site VPbet. The Verge had previously received confirmation from AMD gaming chief Frank Azor that the contract with Bethesda doesn’t prevent them from supporting DLSS. “If they want to do DLSS, they have AMD’s full support,” Azor said.

Nvidia also couldn’t answer the question, directing reporters to ask Bethesda instead. While Bethesda is staying tight-lipped on its own plans for DLSS, the first mod has already appeared to replace AMD’s FSR2 with Nvidia DLSS or Intel’s XeSS upscaling–less than two hours after the game was released in early access.

A number of the year’s biggest game releases launched with DLSS 3 support, including Diablo 4, Redfall, and Forza Horizon 5, while more still, including Baldur’s Gate 3, use DLSS 2.

Starfield, Bethesda’s ambitious sci-fi RPG, officially releases on September 6, but people who preordered the premium editions of the game are able to play it now through early access. Whether you’re already getting stuck into the game, or just want to be prepared, check out our guides hub for Starfield.

Reviews for the title have also started dropping, with GameSpot scoring the game a 7/10 in our Starfield review. “Bethesda’s spacefaring adventure has its moments with impressive scale, satisfying combat, and some worthwhile side quests, but its shallow RPG systems and uninspired vision of the cosmos make for a journey that’s a mile wide, but an inch deep,” said reviewer Michael Higham.
