Luanda, Angola – Bento Kangamba, the Itinerant Secretary of the MPLA Provincial Committee in Luanda, praised the governance of General Higino Carneiro and stated that the image of Luanda has significantly improved since his appointment as Governor of Luanda.
According to Kangamba, the construction and rehabilitation of roads, the fight against garbage and street vending have led to the smooth flow of traffic and improved the overall appearance of the city.
“The governance of Higino Carneiro has greatly improved Luanda. You can see it for yourself as you move around the city. The companies are working, taking out garbage, cleaning, and that is important. The management of the city has improved the streets, some streets have been upgraded. The taxi drivers that create conflict within the neighborhood have disappeared. Some noisy motorbikes have disappeared, and the street vendors are starting to disappear. This means that things are moving in the right direction,” said Kangamba in an interview with RNA.
Kangamba also called on the Ministry of Commerce to monitor companies that take advantage of the current context of the country to sell basic products at exorbitant prices. He also admitted that the prices of essential goods have significantly decreased in various parts of the country.
In addition, Kangamba warned opposition leaders to show respect and avoid using aggressive or vengeful language. “I see some politicians speaking with anger and a spirit of revenge, as if someone has caused them harm. We cannot be like that. We must have respect when we speak about others, about national politics. Politicians cannot appear in the press as if they have a grudge against someone who has robbed them or stolen something from their home. It is about peace, unity, and democracy,” he added.
The MPLA Provincial Committee in Luanda commends the efforts of General Higino Carneiro in improving the quality of life of citizens in Luanda and calls on all Angolans to work together to promote peace, unity, and democracy in the country.
